So I painted the large yellow/orange and green brush strokes, then the circles, then I filled in the rest.  Finished it with the white lines, which were painted with string.  The string renders them in a flowing way that I don’t think I could pull off if I tried to do it with a brush.  Painted this over two days.  Could have done it in one, an hour or two really, if I was in a hurry.  But of course speed isn’t the point — this is fun!  🙂  I guess what I’m getting at is, painting this way there was no ‘boring part in the middle’!

  1. You’re on a boat traveling to new wonderful places, aren’t you?!

  2. Everyway you turn it, it speaks differently. Fun to look at.

  3. My color therapy for today.

  4. I’m so happy to hear you take your time with art. A lot of art instruction books I’ve read always recommend timing yourself. I never saw any reason to. Art should be fun, and who wants to hurry up and rush through the fun? Great painting with some beautiful shapes and colors. Well done!

    • Thanks! Time yourself — really?? Well I can only guess those books were aiming at making one a profitable artist. Not saying I’ll never sell a painting, just saying I’m doing this for fun. My creative outlet of choice. 🙂

  5. My interpretation: to me this looks like a star and planet, or a binary star in some kind of really wild nebula. Maybe the white lines are some kind of zero-G organism — maybe “space fish”. 🙂

My daughter thought it looked like lava, ash, grass, and ocean, with a round pool.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and interpretations! Your comments and likes are what keep the paintings and posts coming. :)
