A little progress…

I’ve made a little more progress on these paintings.  I added a gold circle and some yellow oxide-cadmium orangey blobs. This painting is becoming like a home improvement project — the next two things I want to do with it require a trip to the hardware paint store.

The other one is all but done.  I need to decide if I’m going to paint the remaining blocks blue… or not.  They were going to be blue, then I paused to reconsider at the last minute.  Like Slartibartfast (or was it Arthur Dent during the Paleozoic?), I’m still paused.  One or two more elements to add, then everything just needs another coat of paint.  Blegh.

I also did some dabbling in experimental abstract photography:

Oooo... What is that?

But that is a subject for another post…

  1. i really like your second painting.I’m not sure on the blue for the last blocks either. I like that my eye goes to them because they aren’t blue. Must my take — take that as you will. 🙂 And I love abstract photography! 🙂

  2. I came back to your blog in anticipation of your post on abstract photography, 🙂 and I still really like that 2nd abstract. I can’t wait to see what you do with it next. I really admire those that can PAINT abstracts. 🙂

    • Heh! 🙂 I guess I better get that post put together then… And finish up that painting. Don’t get your hopes up too much — it’s basically done as you see it here… just a few more little things to add…

Well painting really isn’t that hard, especially abstract… You should try it! 🙂

The abstract photo is really cool it’s like taking off your glasses and driving in the country. :). I like the top one too. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. With my *non-abstract* mind, I’m seeing a sunflower so it will be interesting to see the final result.
